After a year in the Facebook group trenches as a student brand ambassador for Smartify, an app startup “dedicated to creating a global learning environment through innovative multimedia synergies”, John Dunnam (COL ’19) is receiving several offers from top telemarketing firms that are eagerly recruiting students with his skill set. “I give a lot of credit to Smartify for giving me opportunities to showcase my talents and hone my workplace skills. Being a Brand Ambassador was a privilege that helped me cultivate my ability to bully my friends into buying something we both know they don’t want,” Dunnam said about his vigorous work posting on several Georgetown GAAP groups, Twitter, and even twice putting up flyers and tabling in Red Square. “I know that my Brand Ambassador job has prepared me with the right skills to succeed at any call-center no matter how big, small, or prestigious. I would also like to add if anyone is looking for a great job with an up and coming company Smartify has some openings for a campus reps and brand ambassadors.” At press time, Dunnam was seen awkwardly explaining to a group of peers why downloading the $6 app was beneficial for all of them.
