Sophomore at Brown House Party Letting Everyone Within Earshot Know She is not a Freshman

By

BROWN HOUSE — Last week when texting friends about weekend plans sophomore Kate Young (MSB ’17) purportedly gave the same response to all who inquired, “I am going to Brown House on Thursday!! Kill me. HOW EMBARRASSING.”

Young’s weekend plans took an unexpected turn when the host of her friend’s birthday became unexpectedly available and forced Young to use several connections to secure the famed social institution for the party.

Although often noted as the hang out and go to party spot for the youngest grade on campus, Young’s desperation forced her hand so as not to disappoint her roommate Kayla Ghadson (COL ’17) on her 20th birthday. Unable to use her LXR room to host, Young reached out in vein to several other off campus locations.

Even before the evening festivities began, Young made several demure trips to the location to ensure its readiness – all through the side door at odd hours of the day.

During the party Young was quoted by attendees as frequently yelling at high volume, often to no one in particular, “thank God, that’s not me any more” and “man, do I love being a sophomore.”

While donning her “Class of 2017” throughout the night, Young stayed huddled with her friends in the corner” as a continuously rising number of people a grade younger entered the party throughout the night.

“You’re lucky I love you enough to go to Brown House when I’m not a freshman!” Young wrote on the birthday card she handed to the Ghadson after blowing out the candles on her cake.

Young several times per hour during the party would log onto her Facebook app to make ensure that no tagged photos were being uploaded of her at the party.

“Ugh look at these desperate biddies,” Young would reportedly say whenever anyone entered Brown House, including when Department of Public Safety Officers arrived at 12:49 am to break up the party.

Young also narrowly avoided a citation from Officers after she continually tried to stand next to officers and have solidarity with them about the “pathetic freshmen” leaving the party.

“God I wish I was freshman again. That was so fun,” Young reportedly said as she left Brown House at the end of the night.
