DANBURY, CT – One day after giving their father a new pair of Nike running shoes for Father’s Day, the Edelson siblings remained unsure if the gift will inspire exercise as they had orignially hoped. “Yesterday when we told him they were great for jogging he just chuckled and said, ‘Great.’  What does that even mean?” said Jon Edelson about his dad, who has led an increasingly sedentary life after scaling back his work hours.  “A couple of months back he actually started to bike around the neighborhood, but then I think he saw the whole ‘Dad Body’ thing on the news and it all ended pretty fast,” added Anne, the younger Edelson.  At press time, Jon was taking the initiative of assembling the Bowflex he bought his father for Christmas in 2011, which, up until that point, had not been taken out of the box.
