Avengers Endgame Breaks Record for Most On-Screen Butterfly Kisses in Cinema History

By

People everywhere are raving over Marvel’s newest superhero movie, Avengers Endgame. The film has it all: dialogue, a plot, and of course, a heck of a lot of adorable butterfly kisses. That’s right, Avengers Endgame shattered industry predictions last weekend with a whopping 127 butterfly kisses in its 181-minute runtime. This blows past the previous record holder, Braveheart, when Mel Gibson personally delivered a stunning 93 individual butterfly kisses. That performance though, was nothing compared to the superhero-packed butterfly kiss-fest that is Avengers Endgame.

“When Thanos and I embraced and showered each other with tiny, cute, baby butterfly kisses, I knew we really were making something special,” explains Iron Man actor Robert Downey Jr. “There’s just a certain spark when you place your eyelashes on another person’s face. We had a lot of fun making this movie and I think that comes through in the final cut.”

Directors Anthony and Joe Russo also had something to say on their masterpiece: “A big butterfly kiss movie was something that we had been moving towards for a long time and we think you can see that in the earlier Marvel movies.” They of course are referring to the 2017 hit movie Spider-man: Homecoming when Spider-man gave each villain a heartfelt eskimo kiss before charmingly beating them up.

Avengers Endgame has created a legacy that has all the appearances of lasting a very long time. It’ll be an incredible day that a film is released that can match Endgame’s sheer volume of butterfly kisses.
