MADISON, WI — Following almost three consecutive months of looking at his phone in cool weather, Sophomore Taylor Fairbanks (COL ’17) has been reportedly “very much looking forward” to staring at his phone in a new, warmer location in a few days. “When my family first said we were going to Puerto Rico over winter break I was psyched because I haven’t really been able to get away and look at the internet and talk to my friends via iMessage somewhere else since the end of the summer,” said Fairbanks, who added that he would also be bringing his laptop and Kindle should his iPhone’s glowing screen become monotonous to him. “[Taylor] works so hard in school, we thought he deserved a chance to look at his phone somewhere else for a change,” said he mother, noting that she checked first to make sure 3G coverage was available in San Juan before booking the trip.  Fairbanks did note, however, that he could not completely escape the hassles of everyday life on vacation and would have to look up from his phone “at least once or twice” during the vacation.
