WEST GEORGETOWN — A long speculated-about phenomenon occurred this Thursday evening as all 35 pre-games and parties occurring at Georgetown played R. Kelly’s “Ignition (Remix)” at the exact same moment.
The Geo-Anthropological event, which experts described as having a 12% of happening on any given weekend night, came to fruition as every party, both off campus and on campus was concurrently playing the track.
“Oh hell yes this is my song!” exclaimed every drunk girl while spilling her drink.
Analysts described the song’s “get-down boogie fresh” vibes and “hip gyration-inducing” beat as making it popular across the entire spectrum of organizations at Georgetown.
The song, a guilty pleasure of the Knights of Columbus and a favorite of that guy DJ-ing a party desperately looking for a crowd pleaser, was first released in 2003. Although it suffered in popularity in the midst of R. Kelly’s unpopular “Pee on Minors” initiative, it has since returned to the top of party playlists.
Though SNAPs and DPS were stationed outside of several gatherings during this time period both declined to break up any parties for fear of disrupting the nirvana induced by the R&B smash hit of the past decade.
“Fellas to my left, honeys on my right” added most party-goers.
Analysts noted that the most popular song played that night after “Ignition (Remix)” was “Turn Down for What,” “Hey Ya” and “Some Idiot Accidentally Unplugging and Trying to Hastily Replug the Speakers.”
