University Announces Second Tier SAC Fair to Advertise Last Resort Clubs

By

COPLEY LAWN — The University announced this week that they would be organizing a “second tier” Student Activities Fair that will allow the campus’s least enticing clubs to recruit students who were rejected by the exclusive ones.

The fair is scheduled to be held next Saturday, after students’ last hopes of being accepted into one of their first round groups have been quashed.

More than twenty groups are rumored to be invited to the fair, including the Ballroom Dancing Club, Chess Club, and the Armenian Student Association.

“This is a great opportunity for clubs like ours, who are generally the last resort for students that were rejected from every other club they applied to,” says Trevor Manning (COL ’15) president of the Georgetown Board Game Club.

“At the first SAC fair no one would give us the time of day. It’ll be nice to see who comes crawling back to us now that we are not next to GUASFCU’s table.”

Groups too exclusive to be represented at the new fair are showing their full support for the event.

“It’s a great for these less qualified students to get some experience in being in clubs. Of course they can reapply in the spring to meaningful clubs and abandon these less exclusive clubs if they get in,” said Lecture Fund spokeswoman Yoanna Carlson (SFS ’16).

“We’re very happy to throw our full weight behind this second tier student activities fair.” Corp representative Jacob Baron (COL ’15) added, “This is a great way for students to find a home in which they perpetually feel dissatisfied with.”

Freshman Hannah Jordan also expressed her excitement about the upcoming fair. “I just want to be in more things,” she said, “I don’t really care what they are.”
At press time, Jordan was overheard telling a friend she “never really wanted to be a tour guide anyway.”
