CAPS Reforms to Include $25 Rollercoaster-Style “Exit Pictures”

HENLE — As part of a recent overhaul for the university’s mental health service to deal with the stress of finals week, students can now purchase photographs of themselves taken during the CAPS counseling session.

The decision comes after years of consistent criticism of CAPS counseling services.   Students who have visited CAPS often report the on-campus resource to be “ineffective, inadequate, and unacceptable.”  This most recent change is meant to correct these shortcomings.

“We take this feedback very seriously, and Georgetown deserves better,” said CAPS director Scott Evans.  “That’s why students who need our services can now have a picture of themselves receiving counseling to enjoy and share with their friends.  And wow, $25?  What a steal!”

Many students, and even some professors, have expressed concerns that the pictures won’t be enough to meet the university’s need for mental health services.  In response, Evans has touted the new feature as a “thorough fix”.

“It’s not just a picture,” said Evans, noting that students can pick from a myriad of novelty frames.  Many come with captions such as “I survived CAPS counseling for my depressive episode.”

Evans, whose education history includes a brochure from a free clinic, says the pictures are meant to make CAPS a more modern, competent service.  “And for only another $15, we’ll even photoshop a smile on your face,” he said.  “I don’t know about you, but that sounds like a pretty sweet deal to me!”

Moving forward, CAPS reportedly plans on charging $10 for an “express bracelet” that gets you to the front of the line for psychiatric counseling.
