(LEAVEY CENTER) – When the latest issue of the Georgetown Voice appeared in stacks throughout campus Thursday, students flipped immediately to the 2015 Spring Fashion photo spread and gasped in surprise. Where was Todd Olson, VP of Student Affairs?
“Olson is my style icon. He is a total bro,” said Jacob Bently (COL ’16), sporting some rad pressed khakis and a short-sleeve button down. “The fact that he wasn’t invited to be a model for the 2015 Spring Fashion spread isn’t just an oversight – it’s an insult.”
Style-conscious students agreed with Bently that the exclusion felt intentional. Many gathered in Red Square on Friday afternoon to protest the oversight, waving tasteful portraits of Olson in a sensible business suit.
“He really deserved to be a model. All my BFFs think so,” said Mariana Wronowitz (SFS ’15), a beautiful protester who seemed particularly upset by the Voice’s slight. “No one wears power loafers like Olson. They could have at least asked him, you know?”
When reached for comment, Editor-in-Chief of the Georgetown Voice Emma Ayers (COL ’16) confirmed her resignation and said that neglecting to include Olson as a model was the single biggest mistake of her college career.
“I’m so embarrassed. I guess I’m just not clued into the scene. I wear leggings as part of an outfit, so I must not recognize true class when I see it,” said Ayers shamefully.
Though his absence in the Voice fashion spread is glaring and upsetting, students are sure that Olson isn’t even phased.
“I bet the haters don’t bother him. He’s probably too busy chilling with chicks who appreciate his understated charm and his Brooks Brothers dress socks,” said Michael Zimmerman (MSB ’17). “He doesn’t need the extra fame, anyway.”
