CAPS: We Are Here for You, As Long As You Fall Into Rigidly Defined Category

By

You are not alone. The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on everyone in our Georgetown community. In recognition of these difficult times, we want to make sure all students know about our well-being resources accessible to Georgetown students who are able to squeeze their diverse mental health needs into one of our neatly-defined categories. Whether students are in-person or remote, CAPS pledges to provide help for a specific handful of students, which we have the power to choose.

If students want to find out if a CAPS clinician has time for them, they can call the CAPS main phone number during business hours and listen to soothing hold music, blasted directly into their brain for maximum healing. In recognition of the economic hardships many students are facing due to the pandemic, CAPS is waiving all fee-for-service charges and adding a waiting list. But remember, even if you’re waiting to receive the care you need, you are not alone.

Students, you are not alone, unless you live in a state where we aren’t licensed, you have a specific issue unrelated to the prescribed, arbitrarily-selected categories, we simply are too pooped to listen, or if it is a Friday afternoon. Please wait 1-2 business days for a response. These are difficult times for us too!
