Holladay, Ut – Many in the Republican establishment are concerned that Governor Mitt Romney, the party’s presidential nominee in 2012, is no longer responding to emails. This sudden lack of communication from the former governor of Massachusets comes as many in party leadership are dissatisfied with the current slate of presidential candidates.
“We tried sending him an email,” said House Speaker Paul Ryan, Romney’s former running mate in 2012. “All we got back was a vacation auto-response.”
The Heckler has received an exclusive copy of this response, seen below.
Hello,
I am very sorry, but I am traveling for the next several months, and will have very limited access to email. I will do my best to address urgent matters, but please do not expect a response before Tuesday, November 8th, 2016.
Sincerely,
Mitt
P.S. Please stop asking. I did it already and it didn’t work.
“We just want to talk to him about uh… a job opportunity,” commented Reince Priebus, the current chair of the Republican National Committee. “Nothing too serious or time-intensive, it’s only a short gig through the fall… of January 2021.”
Romney, who ran unsuccessfully for president in 2008 as well, has remained out of the public spotlight since the 2012 election. He is listed on LinkedIn as “employed”.
When asked to comment on the whereabouts of Romney, Republican frontrunner Donald Trump remarked, “Only losers and cowards go on vacation, unless of course it’s to one of the amazing Trump resorts and hotels. Then it’s fine and I wish the Governor well.”
The Heckler’s own repeated attempts to contact Governor Romney were unsuccessful. Unanswered calls reveal that Romney’s voicemail greeting is simply fifteen seconds of silence with the sound of crashing waves in the distance.
