Local Dad Really Overvalues Waiter’s Opinion

By

OLIVE GARDEN—Earlier today, Local Dad Gary Jenson spent twenty minutes conversing with waiter and Rosslyn Olive Garden’s employee of the month: the one and only, Steve. Jenson goes to Olive Garden almost every week, but still manages to have questions about the never-changing menu every time.

After the Jenson family was deep in bottomless breadsticks and salad, Steve made the move to take their order. Gary Jenson had a single question for him: “What do you recommend?” This sparked a lengthy conversation that ultimately led to Jenson ordering exactly what Steve had originally recommended: the veal cutlet with spaghetti and mushrooms.

When asked to comment on his choice, Jenson said, “I really don’t like mushrooms… and I’m not sure exactly what veal is. I think it’s a baby cow. Which makes me feel guilty now that I think about it… but if it’s Steve’s favorite it must be good! Steve works here so he must know best!” Jenson went on to say that the meal, “really hit the spot, Steve!” even though he quietly grimaced with every bite.

When asked to comment on the situation, Steve said “yeah, I’ve never had the veal actually. I always recommend something different and SWEAR that they’ll love it. Works every time.” Thanks for serving our community, Steve!
