GEORGETOWN— Since the beginning of last week, all around campus special editions of the Georgetown Voice have been distributed, celebrating that newspaper’s 50th anniversary. We here at the Georgetown Heckler have also been celebrating an anniversary, we just decided not to be so obnoxious about it.
The Heckler Staff congratulates the Georgetown Voice on their (relative) longevity, being founded just one day later than our own glorious publication. Indeed it is often said that the idea for the Georgetown Voice was conceived at the first ever Heckler meeting, before being universally derided as a bad one. In the 50 years since it’s founding, the Georgetown Voice has served to inform Hoyas about the news of the day, slightly after the Heckler does. Many of its members have gone on to great things, serving on the Heckler and other publications with long distinguished pasts.
The Heckler congratulates the Voice on a great 50 years, all of which we have been around for, and wishes it good luck in the future until the day the newspaper stops operations, one day before the Heckler does.
