Georgetown men’s basketball suffered a tough loss to Penn State last week, further distancing them from a top 25 position in the NCAA. There is, though, a silver lining to be taken from the beginning of the season. Georgetown players have combined for more total shoe wipe-offs than any other collegiate program. The team averages 4.6 wipes before each inbound, with second highest VCU at only 3.4. Statistically speaking, the Hoyas have the stickiest soles, and consequently the dustiest hands, in college basketball.
Sure, other teams may have more wins or higher 3-point percentages, but let’s see how they stack up against the Hoyas in a shuttle run. They’d be slipping and sliding all over the place. Georgetown players don’t even have to chip, because their shoes do it for them whenever they touch the ground. Hopefully Georgetown leads the league in post-game hand washes too – germs are gross!
