CAR BARN —  The wait is finally over.  In anticipation of the snow filled months ahead, Uber CEO Travis Kalanick has proudly unveiled a new option for the ride sharing company’s Eskimo customers: Uber Dog Sled.

“For years, our northern customers have been asking for a winter option for travel to which they’re more accustomed, but at the same, low Uber price,” said Kalanick at a shareholders conference in San Francisco.  “That is why I’m proud to announce that our customers in cities across the Northern United States now have the option to call a team of sled dogs directly to their home or business.”

The new Uber option, which has been years in the making, comes with a variety of new features.  For example, passengers will have the option to rate each individual sled dog based on speed, cuteness, and how often it needs breaks for treats.

The product is said to be designed for the local Inuit population, but is available for all who want a speedy sled ride in the snow with their furry friends.

Thus far, response has been exceedingly positive for the new option, which will become available this month in any Uber serviced city with more than 1 foot of snow, (and Atlanta, GA if any snow occurs).

Reviews have been mixed in the Georgetown community, however.

Sophomore Ryan Thompson (Col ’17) noted that during his ride, “Rex the Husky was great, but Bandit kept stopping to sniff every tree,” while Freshman Sarah Anderson merely exclaimed “Puppies!!!” as to why she had ordered 7 separate Ubers that day.

Nationwide, the program has quickly caught on.

“I love Uber Dogsled!” said New York resident Nanook.  “I have over 50 words to describe snow, and over 100 to describe how great Uber is!”
