Announcing that it’s time for some underground artists to get the recognition they deserve, Tyler Pilk has launched his new radio show “Beanies and Bands.” He says his show will be a breath of fresh air from all the mainstream artists he’s sure they play on the radio all the time. When we asked him what usually gets played on WGBT, Tyler said “Oh, have I actually listened before? No, not really, but I can just tell the general vibe. Trust me.”
The first episode’s lineup is filled with tons of artists you’ve probably never heard of; according to Tyler, “Tame Inshallah (which is actually just one guy), Dayglo, MGNT, and Fefe Briggers are all gonna be on there.” Tyler says he felt called to share his “one of a kind” taste in music with the world, and thinks there’s “a decent chance some NPR or Sirius XM exec hears my show and picks me up ASAP, so listen while you can.”
You can catch Tyler’s show, “Beanies and Bands,” on the third Tuesday of every month from 3:13 AM to 4:11 AM. Make sure to keep an ear out for it!
