Stop, drop, and roll! Business 101 got a bit too hot today in the Hariri building when Jake Kaplan (MSB ’26) tried to light a cigar to mimic the feeling of being in “the smokey, oak and leather furnished negotiations den of a refined businessman.” Unfortunately, his small hands could not support the weight of the flaming hot stogie, and it tumbled to the floor, setting the fire. As he watched the building succumb to the flames, Kaplan was quoted saying, “a good Cuban is worth any damage that comes from it, just don’t tell my wife!” Kaplan is, in fact, unmarried, but is practicing for when he does have a wife he can cheat on and lie to in the future. In response to the incident, Georgetown administration has decided, instead of imposing punishments for the behavior, to open a new cigar lounge on the first floor of Hariri. They believe the incident has exposed a fundamental need for other business students to take part in the age old tradition of wrapping your grubby little sausage fingers around a cigar as you talk about the newest golf course, the merits of trickle-down economics, or whatever else business majors are wont to discuss.
