GEORGETOWN – Spring, and love, were in the air last weekend when freshmen Henry Swayne and Jackie Schmidt set up a hammock on Copley Lawn and sexiled the entire campus. As is the tradition when warm weather sets in, students flocked to the lawn to toss disc and tan this past Saturday, only to find a sock hung on a branch. In fact, Henry and Jackie were seen at the Hoyas for Choice table in Red Square just minutes before sending a text to their roommates and friends saying that they would be using the lawn for a while.
While the swaying hammock and Christmas lights strung on the trees did keep most students at a distance, Copley Lawn has notoriously poor sound proofing. Henry’s roommate, when asked to comment, responded, “He did text me in advance, so, the least I could do was wear headphones on my way to Lau.”
The administration has since taken measures to make the lawn more acceptable for all types of activities, including the addition of scented candles and constant soft R+B music.
